LACEA’s 2025 Annual Meeting is underway in Recife, bringing together economists from across Latin America and beyond for three days of debate, research dissemination, and academic exchange.

The opening session featured the participation of:

• Gustavo Sampaio, Head of the Department of Economics

Their remarks emphasized the importance of fostering regional dialogue, strengthening academic networks, and supporting the vibrant research community that gathers each year under LACEA’s umbrella.

The conference continues with keynote lectures, invited sessions, parallel paper presentations, and network meetings.
