Eduardo Engel Confirmed as Carlos Díaz-Alejandro Prize Nominee

Following the endorsement process by LACEA’s Executive Committee, Eduardo Engel has been confirmed as the nominee for the Carlos Díaz-Alejandro Prize.

Engel is an elected Fellow of the Econometric Society and the International Economic Association, a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Economic Association, and a recipient of the Frisch Medal. He also served as President of LACEA (2014–2015) and has published extensively in leading journals such as American Economic Review, Econometrica, and Quarterly Journal of Economics.

His contributions span macroeconomics and public finance, including influential work on investment dynamics and Public-Private Partnerships, as well as more recent research on infrastructure and corruption.

The prize will be awarded at the 2026 LACEA Annual Meeting, to be held in Lima, Peru, from November 12 to 14, 2026.
