Description

Pablo Querubín is a Professor of Politics and Economics at New York University (NYU). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2010) and completed his undergraduate and master’s studies at the Universidad de los Andes. Before joining NYU, he was a Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies postdoctoral fellow. His research focuses on the political economy of development, with an emphasis on understanding the challenges of state consolidation, the role of political and economic elites in development, and clientelism. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a member of Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP). His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and EGAP, and has been published in the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics, among others.
