Short bio

Sofia Bauducco is an economist with extensive experience in macroeconomics, international economics, and monetary policy. She currently serves as Manager of Economic Studies at the Central Bank of Chile, where she has led research and analysis teams since 2022. Previously, she held positions as Head of the Economic Research Department and Senior Economist at the same institution.

She earned her Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Spain, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina. Her academic work includes publications on topics such as capital controls, minimum wages, monetary rules, and fiscal policy in international journals such as the Journal of International Economics, European Economic Review and Macroeconomic Dynamics, among others. She has also contributed to book chapters and organized international conferences and workshops, on many occasions in collaboration with other international and local institutions.
