Political Economy Network

LACEA’S Political Economy Group (PEG) was created in 1998 by a group of members of the Association interested in improving the dissemination of ideas in the specific area of Political Economy. The Group has focused in the organization of workshops, allowing a more specialized and detailed discussion of papers than is possible during the general meetings of LACEA. The general focus of this group is the area of Political Economy, with special interest in interdisciplinary contributions. Original PEG members included Mariano Tommasi, Andrés Velasco, Pablo Spiller, Nora Lustig, Jorge Streb, Ernesto Stein, and Mauricio Cárdenas.

The idea of the PEG’s Annual Workshop is to encourage interaction and cross-fertilization between paper presenters, policymakers, and researchers. We expect that participants can obtain significant feedback in order to improve the quality of their research, with the ultimate goal of improving publication chances.
