Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association or Asociación
de Economía de América Latina y el Caribe (LACEA) is an international
association of economists with common research interests in
Latin
America. It was formed in 1992 to facilitate the exchange
of ideas among economists and policymakers. For more information about LACEA, please review its history and

The13th LACEA Annual Meeting 2008 took place at IMPA (Instituto Nacional De Matemática Pura E Aplicada), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, November 20th to 22nd, 2008.

1999, the Global Development Network has been awarding
annual grants to LACEA as
part of its program on Regional Research Consortia
capacity building.
